This picture was taken one late night back in 2011 at ID Labs, a studio in Lawrenceville, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh. I had hung out with Malcolm at a prom for his alma mater (and mine!) Taylor Allderdice High School where he had performed earlier. He then hustled over to ID to record into the night. It was the night Malcolm McCormick recorded "Missed Calls" - which has been my ringtone since. I sat at his feet in the closet of a recording booth as he sang the lyrics off his phone. “Gone too soon. Wait! We was just hangin’....”

About George Lange has worked for Duane Michals and Annie Leibovitz before establishing his own career. His work has appeared in Vogue, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Esquire, People and The New York Times, among other publications. He shot many of the iconic images from Friends, Frasier, Dawson’s Creek, and Seinfeld, as well as Sophia Loren, ads for and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
