When the Simpson's first started, I was assigned to photograph Matt Groening over at 20th Century Fox studios. This is one of the pictures we did. I found this mask laying around the Fox studio, put it on the back of his head and had him draw on the wall. I love shots that are this simple and share a secret with the viewer.

About George Lange has worked for Duane Michals and Annie Leibovitz before establishing his own career. His work has appeared in Vogue, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Esquire, People and The New York Times, among other publications. He shot many of the iconic images from Friends, Frasier, Dawson’s Creek, and Seinfeld, as well as Sophia Loren, ads for and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
