I found an Italian villa in Beverly Hills to shoot Sophia Loren for Allure. She walks in alone - no support team - wraps herself in a towel, grabs a glass of wine, sits down and does her own makeup. She then put on this great Todd Oldham dress, agreed to strap on a leaf blower and go around the garden. A more elegant and lovely actress I have never met. We had a grand feast after the shooting, linen napkins and all. When she did her lips after lunch, she pressed them to a napkin making a perfect imprint. I had her sign it - the only autograph I have ever asked for in my entire career.

About George Lange has worked for Duane Michals and Annie Leibovitz before establishing his own career. His work has appeared in Vogue, Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Esquire, People and The New York Times, among other publications. He shot many of the iconic images from Friends, Frasier, Dawson’s Creek, and Seinfeld, as well as Sophia Loren, ads for and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
