Author Mateo Kries joined the Vitra Design Museum in 1995, first as a curator then as the director of the museum’s branch in Berlin. In 2001, he co-founded the DESIGNMAI festival in Berlin, in 2006 he became the chief curator at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, and since 2011 he is the museum’s director.
